This is a page for the new Folk Club set for opening in 14th January 2008.
The Painters Arms Folk Club, The Painters Arms Pub, Avenue Road, Roseville in Coseley WV14 9DJ.
It has recently been pointed out to us that there is very little live acoustic / folk music in the area on a Monday night. We thought this would give us the opportunity to try and raise cash for Breakthrough Breast Cancer Charity.
The room is on the ground floor level in a warm comfortable lounge.

Many years ago the Painters Arms used to be a good thriving folk club so we thought we would bring it back to life and at the same time dedicate the venture to a good charitable cause.
The Folk at the Oak, School Road in Tettenhall (see links page) run by Phil Parton and Marylin Bose have been raising cash for this charity for some time now in its present format and before that as Folk at the Barn and as Angies' Folk Club. We thought we would support the same charity.
It started on Monday January 14th 2008 and we usually start about 8.30 / 8.45 pm. This is run as an informal round robin or sing a round format as opposed to the structured performance type of club. I hope it will encourage people who can play and sing a bit to come and do so without the pressure of a 'stage performance scenario'
The pub is a lovely Holden's pub and ia run by Jackie and Peter who are very supportive for us in this worthwhile charitable venture. Even great sandwiches and snacks are provided for us.
I want to stress this is not going to affect Daisy Roots Folk Club in any way, they are seperate ventures and Daisy Roots will continue as normal.
I hope to see you there.
